Quality of Life
Few areas can match the natural beauty, cultural diversity, entertainment or wealth of activities you will find in western Massachusetts.
The Pioneer Valley is home to some of southern New England’s most charming and historic towns, top-rated restaurants and excellent museums. Clear running streams, winding rivers and picturesque lakes offer great fishing, boating and water sports. Golf courses are many, and challenging.
For those who aspire to higher elevations, some of New England’s best hiking and skiing can be enjoyed in our Berkshires, as well as at resorts in nearby Vermont and New Hampshire.
Cultural activities abound as well, ranging from fine galleries and artist communities, theater, and concerts to crafts, antiques and produce farms.
There is also an excellent selection of private and public schools, prestigious colleges and universities, and charming homes in welcoming neighborhoods.
Springfield, the area’s largest city, offers much to see and do, from its famous Quadrangle and Forest Park Zoo to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
The region offers excellent shopping, exquisite dining and exciting nightlife. Other major cities including Hartford, Boston and New York are also within easy reach.
