Our main campus, Baystate Medical Center in Springfield MA, has a rich history of providing healthcare back to the early 1900s. Springfield is the largest city in western MA with a population of approximately 150,000.

Neighboring towns of Longmeadow, Wilbraham, Belchertown and others are home to many of our providers. Our location 5 minutes from the Connecticut border makes living in CT common as well. The CT towns of Suffield, Enfield, Granby, and West Hartford are easily commutable. Springfield is well known as the birthplace of basketball and the famous Basketball Hall of Fame is a source of pride. It is also home to many museums, most notable the Dr. Seuss Museum.

Baystate Noble Hospital, located in Westfield MA, is our western-most location.  Westfield has a charming downtown with a wide variety of shops and is bordered by farming communities.  A 30-minute drive takes you through the beautiful Berkshires into Lenox which is home to the famous Tanglewood Music Center.  Next door to Westfield in Agawam is Six Flags New England.

To the east we have Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer MA.  Palmer is halfway between Springfield and Worcester, making it an ideal selection for people with ties to eastern MA.  Belchertown, Amherst, the Brookfield’s and Sturbridge are popular among our employees.  The Quabbin Reservoir is one of the most scenic places in the area, perfect for hikes and enjoying nature.

Baystate Franklin Medical Center is in Greenfield, MA, 40 minutes to the north of Springfield.  Beautiful hill towns such as Conway, Colrain, Deerfield and Shelburne Falls are great options for people seeking rural lifestyles with easy access to medium-sized towns.  This area is well known for its abundance of outstanding private schools, from Deerfield Academy, Northfield Mount Hermon, Bement Academy, Eaglebrook, and Stoneleigh-Burnham.  Greenfield is just 20 minutes from the Vermont and New Hampshire borders, which is ideal for skiers and recreationists.

Central to the Baystate Heath service area are the college towns of Northampton and Amherst.  Commutable to all Baystate hospitals and practices, these towns are popular choices as home base for our employees.  Northampton’s Main Street is full of unique shops and restaurants with cuisine from all corners of the globe.  Smith College is located centrally, making this an attractive area for those seeking academic environments, cultural diversity and a fun music and theater scene.  Nearby Amherst also boasts a walkable downtown area with great restaurants and a wide variety of events.  Amherst is home to UMass Amherst and Amherst College, both of which offer many public events and activities.  Also nearby are the prestigious Mount Holyoke College and Hampshire College.

Wherever you choose to call home, the Pioneer Valley offers abundant recreation, cultural and academic opportunities.  Our public and private schools are ranked among the best in the nation.  We enjoy a reasonable cost of living with ability to visit Boston in a simple 2-hour drive.  The beauty of the four seasons presents ever-changing activities from leaf-peeping and visiting farm stands, snowshoeing and swimming.  Don’t let the snow scare you- our roads are cleared immediately, and nothing is prettier than fresh snow on farmland!  Our team of realtors is ready to give you a community tour so you can explore how our region can become home for you and your family.  We promise you’ll fall in love with New England!
